The slicer has a stop plate (5) parallely movable opposite to a rotary drivable circular knife (4). The plate for a cut material (9) has a cut material holder (7) that is movably supported in a guide on a housing base (1) and is movable along the plate against the knife. The plate is projected over a front surface of the base. The plate and/or a part of the plate are retractable behind a plane, which is fixed in the front surface, or retractable in or against the plane. The holder is laterally movable adjacent the knife in a retracting position behind a level.
