The display (55) has a housing that is attachable to a trailer (20). A display portion is coupled to the housing and includes a screen that is configured to display a parameter. A microcontroller (50) is in electrical communication with the display portion for displaying the parameter on the screen. The microcontroller is programmed to selectively switch the display portion between a forward view mode and a mirror view mode, such that the parameter is readable on the screen from outside a vehicle and from inside the vehicle based on a relationship between the vehicle and the trailer. An independent claim is also included for a method of displaying a parameter of a transport unit.
