The sewing machine for thick sewing materials like shoes and bags, comprises a needle bar for moving a needle up and down, a thread cutting electromagnet for cutting the thread under a needle plate, an upper feed leg moved in a predetermined direction for pushing the sewing materials, a presser foot for the sewing materials, an upper feeding mechanism, a wiper for the topside of the upper feed leg, a nozzle for ejecting compressed air in a direction vertical to the needle, a steering wheel, and a height regulating mechanism. The sewing machine for thick sewing materials like shoes and bags, comprises a needle bar for moving a needle up and down, a thread cutting electromagnet for cutting the thread under a needle plate, an upper feed leg moved in a predetermined direction, a presser foot for the sewing materials, an upper feeding mechanism, a wiper for wiping the topside of the upper feed leg, a nozzle for ejecting compressed air in a direction vertical to the needle, a steering wheel to drive the nozzle after the driving of the wipers, and a height regulating mechanism in which the leg and the presser foot are alternatively moved through the feed mechanism in the up- and down direction. The upper feed leg pushes the sewing materials in a condition in which the upper feed leg is in contact with the sewing materials. The upper feed leg couples with the upward and downward movement of the needle bar. The feed mechanism for the sewing materials is operable in order to swing the presser foot in upward- and downward manner and the upper feed leg in to- and fro manner.
