The hinged lid container (1), and especially a waste bin, has a foot section (10) for resting on a floor surface, an outer case (30) to which is connected a hinged lid, and a lid operating foot lever fitted to the foot section. A widening ring (20) is fitted on the foot section, protrudes over the foot section's circumferential edge (15) and stands on the floor surface when the bin is upright. The foot section has a base (11) and a flange (12) installed on the base and offset inwards in relation to the circumferential edge, serving for the fastening of the outer case.
