The seat has a gas-tight and flexible casing (10) that encloses a volume and comprises inner and outer surfaces. A cushion unit (20) is made of soft foamed material and connected with the inner surface, and a valve (40) regulates the gases present in the volume. A shell (30) partially encloses another volume (31) and is connected with the casing, where the volumes are adjoined at a connection surface. The cushion unit is compressed in an evacuated condition of the latter volume and expanded in an expanded condition of the volumes.
