The plate has a plate-shaped heating block (14) with two plate sides, and a heating coil (16) arranged in the block. A heat conducting unit (42) is arranged in the heating block and extends from one side to the other side of the block. The conducting unit is a metallic unit e.g. copper unit or iron unit, and is formed as a single piece. The unit (42) is oriented transverse to the one of the plate sides and the coil. The conducting unit has a uniform cross section over its length and is arranged between windings of the heating coil.
