Device to sort coins after having being passing through checking device (5) drop into a distributor box (7) in which they assume a vertical position and from which, in different denominations, they can be put into corresponding containers (17-24). The distributor box to which individual coins (2) are sent is made with part of a slide (29) which can be slid along a frame-like sorting template. Template has long edge extending in the direction the box moves, whose steps (51-58) have heights made to correspond to the different diameters of the coins. Box has slit for the sorting template running oliquely to the lengthwise axis of the money box.
