The coupler has coaxially arranged radial inner and outer units (2, 3), which respectively support a set of magnets (5, 6) in the area of the axial overlapping (4). The magnets are distributed with radially aligned magnetic poles along respective peripheries (7, 8). The magnets are polarized equally in a circumferential direction and radially face the like poles. The magnets form a non-contact operating passive radial support for receiving radial forces between the units.
