The wood fibre plate has wood fibres containing lignocellulose bound by a binding agent matrix. The fibres have a coarse long-fibre structure. The binding agent is formed from adhesive particles such as thermoplastics binders , condensation resin, polymerisation resin, thermosetting resins, diisocyanate, polymers, wax, starch, proteins or biologically degradable thermoplastic setting binders. Flame-retardant agents, hydrophobic agents and/or separating agents can be mixed in as additives.
