The system has an orientation guide including an emission source provided at a doorway (1) for an escape and rescue route or in direct proximity of the route. The source emits acoustic and/or optical signals into an area to be evacuated. The doorway is formed by a frame (2), and the source is integrated in the frame, where the emission source has a light source (3) e.g. laser and LED, that is arranged at a ground level. The emission source has an acoustic source that is provided with an ultrasonic-based acoustic transducer to generate an acoustic signal that is audible for humans.
