The device has a spindle shaft (2) formed as a tube shape at its rotary end (3). An induction heater (4) is arranged within a region of the rotary end. A tube shaped casing (5) is detachably inserted into the rotary end using a seat. A shaft (6) of a tool (1) is arranged into the casing using the seat. The tool shaft, the casing and the rotary end are arranged in relation to each other in an axial position, and exhibit different heat expansion coefficients. The induction heater is provided with a ferrite shielding (7), and the spindle shaft is provided with cooling channels (8 - 10). An independent claim is also included for a casing for detachably clamping a tool into a spindle shaft of a machine tool.
