The medium has an anti twist protection device (4), which is laid together with another anti twist protection device at a printer such that printing of the medium is enabled only by moving the medium in a corresponding direction, where the medium is provided at a mat (3) and is provided with impressions by a printer during passage of the mat. A mechanical code is provided, which is scanned by a mechanical or optical detecting device, and a profile (7) is provided at a guiding profile (6) at the mat. An independent claim is also included for a printer for printing plate shaped printing medium.
