The tool has an axial centering ring, and a chucking grab (22) axially movable simultaneously distributed by the circumference at an edge for gripping of a rim flange of a light metal rim blank, which is pivotable around their axle. The chucking grab has star shaped arranged radial arms (26, 28, 30) of different length, where arms have dies (26a, 28a, 30a) of different lengths, respectively, which hold and clamp a rim edge of different diameters. The dies are shifted to a plane between itself and one die below the rim edge in a circumferential direction and radially to each other.
