The rear view mirror (8) has a holder (1) for the fixed holding of the same on the rear side of a front seat of the motor vehicle which exhibits a curved mirror disk (11) at its rear side, which has a clamping jaw (4,7) at both of its sides. At least one of the two spring tensioned clamping jaw is displaceable in the holder.
