A cooled welding head, especially for argon arc welding has the support handle (14) fitted with 2 flexible water cooling pipes and one flexible pipe for inert gas with all three pipes twisted around each other to form a flexible mounting. The welding head includes a grip sleeve (12) for the electrode, e.g. tungsten rod, and is cooled by a water sleeve. The length of the support handle is at least 5 times the diameter of the welding head.
