The control valve mechanism for regulating the flow rate and differential pressure of water has a capsule spring (11) with a linear characteristic mounted between valve stem (6) and cone (14). This measures the differential pressure. Independent claims are included for: (A) thermostatic valves fitted with the mechanism; and (B) shut-off valves for bathroom appliances fitted with it.
