The candle in which a burn through barrier (4): has an aluminum layer; is formed as a foil which covers bottom of candle body; is fixed to the candle body (2) by glue; and is detachable from the candle body. The surface of the burn-through barrier is turned away from the candle body and exhibits a wax-repellent surface. A strip ring (4a) of the burn through barrier is projected away from mounting surface of the candle and is brought around mantle surface of the candle body. The candle is formed as a knob candle and a taper candle. The boundary surface of the burn through barrier lies above the mantle surface of the candle body.
