The pedal has a pedal unit and a base unit, where the pedal unit is moved in relation to the base unit in an actuating direction against a resetting force. A kick down switch (10) has a single side clamped laminated spring (12), which exhibits a structure, with which a reversible change is obtained during turning so that the laminated spring produces a force point during actuation at its free end transverse to its surface. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control system for a motor vehicle (2) a force point unit with an actuating unit.
