Component (1) comprises a surface decoration (2) having different colored regions (3, 4, 5) as color coding. Light beams with different wavelengths leaving the surface regions (3, 4) are strongly deflected by a prism (6, 7) and the deflection produces a spatial depth information about the relative position of the surface regions. An independent claim is also included for a set comprising the above component and an optical device with a prism. Preferred Features: The color grading of the surface regions is selected so that one flat element can be assigned a spatial surface (8, 9) formed by each color tone of the flat element.
