Wood splitter (1) has splitting tool (3) which is adjustable. An intake recess (15) of a guide housing (2) of a support (8) for the long splitting material is adjustable perpendicular to the support. The splitting tool is at a side of intake recess. The projecting portion of the splitting article is split by adjustable stroke of the splitting tool. The splitting article is placed longitudinally in the intake recess of the support.
