Bowl or pot-shaped plate (1) has bottom (2) forming a receiving space (4) for food and edge (3) connected to it which at its upper end has a front surface (5) on which a foil (6) is fastened to protect the food being transported in the receiving space, which seals the space tight. The receiving space is filled with shielding gas (7). The gas is air with an increased content of nitrogen, oxygen and/or carbon dioxide. The container is a plate with a round circumference and its front is flat and wide.
