The cuff link has a mounting section provided at a lower end of a non splitting portion of a retainer. The mounting section is fixed in an opening of a mounting plate. The section has a portion of reduced thickness such that a partially circulating shoulder is formed. The shoulder is placed on a rear side of a trim part in the mounted condition. The mounting section and a through hole have a common non-circular cross section.
