A method for fitting an additional hand grip (10) to a hand power tool, e.g. an impact drill, has radial profiles around the spindle end of the drill engaged by corresponding profiles of the grip, which is secured by sliding axially. The grips can be simple raised blocks gripping into slots in the hand grip. The grip can be secured at different angles to the drill and remains secure even in the event of tool bit jamming in the workpiece.
