The data carrier has a connection device (42) exhibiting a retainer (56) for the insertion of a part of a medical implant (12). The connection device is formed such that the connection device is transferable from a connection position into a releasable position without force charging at the implant, where the implant is held in the retainer in the connection position and the data carrier is releasable from the implant in the release position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a surgical implantation system with a medical implant (2) an identification marking system for identification marking and handling of a medical implant.
