The separate lighting device (1) for an electric shaver is fastened on the back or on the side of the casing of the shaver, or a lighting device is installed which can pivot upwards or from the side of the shaver. The lighting device is supplied from the shaver's own battery or by current from the mains. The lighting components can be arranged parallel to each other or also one above the other, conditional upon construction. An on/off switch can be attached in or on the shaver's casing.
