The device has a temperature sensor e.g. thermocouple (2), for measuring air temperature in surrounding of an electrically heated test specimen (1), where the sensor is arranged inside the test specimen. Electrical heater of the test specimen is switched on or off by a controller of the device. The thermocouple is arranged within a protective housing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a test specimen (2) an electrical heater of the test specimen.
