The device has a unit for contour-suitable guidance of a printed sheet to a sheet transport unit during a period of process affecting a sheet surface. A device for execution of the process is attached to a processing area (A) of a cylinder (2) downstream to a column of printing elements or last printing element of a printing machine e.g. sheet rotary printing machine. A guiding device (14) is arranged downstream to the area of the surface, and is attached to the cylinder. The device (14) has guiding units producing linear guiding areas (L) transverse to a sheet transportation direction (T).
