Profile frame construction comprises a base profile and filling elements (12) arranged between seals (2) and held against the base profile by a holding device (40) consisting of glass at least in the visible region. Preferred Features: The holding device lies flush with the outer surfaces of the filling elements. The holding device consists of a press strip (6) glued to a cover strip (1). The cover strip is made completely of glass. The glass of the holding device is toughened safety glass or cast glass that is clear, colored or opaque.
