The fire extinguishing system valve triggering device has an electromagnetic delay device (22) containing a motor in the form of a stepper motor (23) supplied with pules by a stepper motor controller (25), whereby the pule/pause ratio or the frequency of the pulses can be varied to determine the delay time.
