PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer ribbon having an antistatic function excellent in abrasion resistance and resistance to alcohol, etc., and having good sensitivity to printing and an excellent printing quality, in consideration of demands on enhancement of sensitivity of media and improvement of a print performance in the condition of a speed increase of a thermal transfer printer. ;SOLUTION: The thermal transfer ribbon is provided with a release layer and a coloring layer, at least, on a base. The content of a colorant in the coloring layer is 10-25 mass %, and as for the colorant, at least one kind of carbon black A of which the DBP oil absorption is 50-150 ml/100 g and the BET specific surface area 50-250 m2/g, and at least one kind of carbon black B of which the DBP oil absorption is 350-500 ml/100 g and the BET specific surface area 800-1300 m2/g are used therefor. In this way, the total contents of the two kinds, the carbon black A excellent in dispersibility in a solution and the carbon black B forming a structure easily and having high conductivity, are reduced to the above ranges.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
