PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermometer precisely measuring a temperature by stably holding the thermometer without receiving influence from operation, posture, etc., at the time of measuring. SOLUTION: This ear-type thermometer 1 is provided with a probe 6 installed at a thermometer main body 2 to be inserted into an ear and a measuring switch 4 installed at the main body 2 to operate at least at the time of starting or finishing measurement. The projecting direction of the probe 6 from the main body 2 and the operating direction of the switch 4 are substantially the same. The switch 4 is provided on the back surface side of the main body 2. In addition, at least one raised part for abutting onto a face surface to support-fix the main body 2 is formed at the main body 2.
