The method comprises _ a step of contactless optical measurement of local value of at least one optical characteristic of a refringence of said lens on a local zone defined around the point of measurement of the lens, at least one step of feeling said lens in the course of which it determines the axial position of the measuring point on the one of the faces of the lens; it is possible to combine the axial position of the point of measurement obtained by tracing with the local value of the optical characteristic of the lens at the point of measurement determined from the optical measurement without contact, in order to deduce therefrom at least one optical power of the lens at this point of measurement.
