The head has a hollow shell (2) with an artificial hollow skull-cap (3), in the form of a human skull, filled with a gel (4) simulating the cerebral matter and covered externally by a false skin (5). A acceleration recording device (10) records the acceleration of the skull-cap. An evaluation device (11) evaluates the deformations of the skull-cap, and has strain gauges (12) integrated against the skull-cap. The gauges are placed at the anti-nodes of different vibration modes of the skull-cap. An independent claim is also included for a method for predicting a risk of cranial and/or intracranial injuries for a human head undergoing an impact from an experimental simulation of such an impact on a mannequin head.
