The seat has a base (12) delimited by upper and lower sides, and a backrest (14) delimited by front and rear sides. Three sets of connecting rods move the seat between a deployed use position, in which the backrest is vertical and the base is horizontal above a floor pan (26), and a folded storage position in which the backrest and the base are parallel and horizontal. The base has a housing (24) to receive, partially, the backrest in the folded position of the seat. A cavity (28) receives the seat in folded storage position. One connecting rod set is articulated to the front part of the base and to the floor pan, another set is articulated to the rear part of the base and in a sliding manner to the backrest, and the third set is articulated to the lower part of the backrest and to a support (40). An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a foldable seat.
