The terminal has a parental control (10) limiting access to services accessible by a server and accesses to selected destinations. The control allows or does not allow disabling the terminal completely, allows to remotely activate the terminal operation by a parent and allows accessing services included in the terminal. The terminal has a non-active operation mode, in which only radio reception is active for receiving a short message service (SMS) message, so that the terminal returns to an active mode for the reception and emission of a call.
