The table has a table body comprising a tray, an extension and a leg assembly and includes a unit for positioning the extension. The extension comprises a frame (1) that is locked to a wall when the frame is not positioned on the table body. The extension has plane detachable units (21a) that are inserted in the frame, where the units are constituted by a plate that is made of a transparent material. The tray is constituted of parts (15a-15c) mounted movable in translation on the leg assembly. An independent claim is also included for a furniture assembly comprising a table and a system constituted of a frame and a detachable plane unit constituting an extension.
