The system has a furniture body (1) comprising a cutout cooperating with a pair of units, where the unit (5) provides an appearance and function different from the appearance and function of another unit. A rabbet and a stud are provided at the periphery of the cutout and provide reversible cooperation between the units and the cutout, such that the body cooperates with the units sequentially to provide different appearances and functions. An independent claim is also included for furniture for arranging a set of interchangeable units.
