The LCD device has a data line (104) supplying a data voltage, gate line (102) intersecting the data line, and a thin film transistor (TFT) (106) located at intersection area of the gate line and data line. A photosensing device (140) driven by drive voltage other than the data voltage, is provided for sensing light, and storing charge generated by light in a storage capacitor (180). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) LCD fabrication method; and (2) image sensing method.
