The method involves a simultaneous recording of data transmitted over transmission and reception lines of each of links in an Ethernet network, using coupling units (40, 41). The data are recopied using a four port Ethernet transceiver (44) by the link for transmitting the data towards an automatic test equipment (46) e.g. flight test installation, through an isolator (45). An independent claim is also included for a device for intercepting data in a link of an Ethernet network.
