The equipment has a pair of supports (5) with rollers (6a, 6b) such that the supports are controlled by an elastic unit (11) towards an initial position so that the roller (6a) is placed at the neighborhood and above a rolling plane (14) of front and rear wheels of the wheelchair. The roller (6b) is placed at a level higher than that of the roller (6a) so that the supports and the roller (6b) pivot towards the front during blocking of the roller (6a) by an obstacle e.g. platform edge, till the roller (6b) contacts the ground to permit the wheelchair to cross over the obstacle. An independent claim is also included for a manual or an electric wheelchair comprising an equipment.
