Catalytic combination useful for (co)polymerization of alpha-olefins comprises a titanium bisamide dichloride an alkylating agent and tris-pentafluorophenylborane
Catalytic combination for (co)polymerization of alpha-olefins comprises a titanium bisamide dichloride (Ia); an alkylating agent to react with (Ia) to obtain an alkyl compound (Ib); and tris-pentafluorophenylborane, which is an activator of (Ib). Catalytic combination for the (co)polymerization of alpha-olefins comprises a titanium bisamide dichloride complex of formula (Ia); an alkylating agent to react with (Ia) to obtain an alkyl compound of formula (Ib); and tris-pentafluorophenylborane, which is an activator of (Ib). R : methyl or isopropyl; and R1, R2 : not defined. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method of preparing alpha-olefins by (co)polymerization using the catalyst combination comprising alkylating (Ia) in situ with the alkylating agent with a suspension in the presence a solvent to obtain (Ib), activating (Ib) by the addition of tris-pentafluorophenylborane in the presence of reaction medium to form an active catalyst in situ; and introducing the active catalyst in to the reaction medium containing the alpha-olefinic monomer and optionally a (co)monomer; and (2) a method of preparing (Ia) comprising reacting bisamide compound of formula (II) with titanium chloride in the presence of toluene and an excess triethyl amine at -78[deg]C.
