The installation has a gripping assembly with a support on which a thigh-holder, a knee support element (3c), and a leg rest (4) are installed. A movement unit permits the movement of the gripping assembly within a predefined space. A control unit controls the movement unit. Two grip jaws of the thigh holder are articulated such that the jaws pivot for being passed from a rest position in which the thighs are freed, to an utilization position in which the thighs are tightened. A height adjustment unit allows translation of the holder mounted on a branch along another branch of the support. An independent claim is also included for a gripping unit adapted to be implemented in a person movement installation.
