METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING A COMMUNICATION INVOLVING A MOBILE NODE IN A MACRO-MOBILITY SITUATION WITHIN A HIERARCHICAL ROUTING IP COMMUNICATION NETWORK

The address prefix of access router (R2) is determined to communicate with the mobile (T1) and to construct additional local and regional care-of addresses. The local address is communicated to the anchor point (P2) to setup a temporary tunnel (TU) to router or to anchor point to forward the packets to router. The mobile is connected to router to send received packets through tunnel, and the addresses of mobile is communicated with anchor point, and regional address of mobile is communicated with home agent (EA) to substitute address for previous regional address. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) mobility anchor point; and (2) handover usage method.
