The method involves paralleling a flow of bits to obtain a set of words of n1 bits. A compression function (2) e.g. Huffman function, is applied to the words for obtaining another set of words of n2 bits, where n2 represents the number of bits to be considered in the words of n1 bits for obtaining useful bits. A specific number of bits is evaluated on the compression function providing results, where the specific number represents the number of useful bits in the words. The compression function is utilized for determining the ratio between the number of useful bits and a number of input bits. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for non deterministic generation of words from a noise source (2) a non deterministic number generator.
