The method involves forming, by knitting, a base lap on which loops are meshed, and shearing loops for forming naps for velvet. The base lap is formed by utilizing multifilament polyester face yarns, and the loops are formed by utilizing multifilament textured polyester pile threads whose crimp coefficient is lower than 6.1. The unitary filaments of the pile threads have an average numbering lower than 4 decitex. Knitted velvet is subjected to a finishing curing and antistatic treatment without increasing hook of pile threads. An independent claim is also included for a knitted velvet for textile lining for a seat.
