The slide has a fixed sliding element in the form of a female section, and a bridge piece (16) located inside a male section of a mobile sliding element (6) to limit narrowing of the male profile in case of an impact of a motor vehicle. The male section slides inside the female section so as to allow displacement of a seat with respect to a floor pan of the vehicle. The bridge piece forms a single body with a fixing flange (17) of the slide fixed to a receiving section chosen among the male and female sections. The flange added on the seat`s base maintains the base on the receiving section. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle seat element comprising a base carried by a support element of a slide (2) a method for fabricating a slide of a motor vehicle seat.
