The device has a flexible core with loop-shaped ends (11a, 11b) joined together by a bowline (1a) of a mooring line (1), where the core is fitted into a cover sheath (12) for constituting a single body. The sheath made of silicone extends along the core so as to expose the loop-shaped ends and has a set of segments individually fitted over the core. The core has a strip folded in double layer with opposed ends joined together to form a flattened loop so as to make a core having a flat cross section. An independent claim is also included for a method of making a connection device.
