The prosthesis has a prosthetic head (12) in spherical shape, and a tapered central cavity (13) provided in the head. A ring (11) is extended by a cylindrical collarette and comprises an inner surface (14) delimited by a cylinder of diameter corresponding to a diameter of a cylindrical section of a femoral neck. An external surface of the ring is delimited by a tapered part (15), whose shape is complementary to that of the central cavity. The depth of the central cavity is less than the height of the tapered part.
