The headlamp has a reflector (R) with two joined different reflective surfaces (A1, A2) having ellipsoidal portions (El, E2) located towards the base of the headlamp. A light source (S) e.g. halogen lamp, is placed at a common focus (F1) of the reflector. A bifocal lens (B) with front convex faces (B1, B2) admits two distinct focuses, corresponding to the faces, confounded with or located near the focuses (F2-1, F2-2) of the portions. The distance (D) between the focuses (F2-1, F2-2) is less than or equal to half of the transversal dimension (L) of the front opening of the headlamp.
