A data acquisition device has a wireless data acquisition network including a set of nodes, where each node (100) includes a sender (140) and a receiver (150) for sending, receiving or relaying data collected by seismic sensors (110, 111, 112) and commands. Each node includes a satellite positioning system (SPS) (130) providing specific data. A concentrator of the network uses the specific data for time-stamping the data with respect to a common time reference, organizing an access to the wireless network in a perfectly controlled manner, and routing the data and commands within the network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a data acquisition apparatus conformed to a node of a data acquisition device; and (2) acquiring data within a wireless network having a set of nodes.
